REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Inspector General M Iriawan said the head of Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) had made a deal not to conduct a march in main roads at 112 rally on Saturday (Feb 11) . Previously, the mass of 112 rally was planned to have a healthy walk from Istiqlal Mosque to National Museum and HI roundabout.  

In spite of that, Iriawan said there were still some groups that had not agreed. "There were some groups which had not agreed with the deal not to hold long march to Istiqlal. But there were also group which had not agreed. Rizieq had made a deal to change the long march into religious rally,” said Iriawan to reporters in Jakarta Metro Police headquarters on Thursday.

He was thankful to FPI for not holding the long march during the action themed ‘Healthy Walk al-Maidah 51. “Thank you for FPI for not doing long march. We would set it not to make groups,” he said. 

Iriawan insisted Jakarta Metro Police banned the long march because it potentially caused disruption before the election. Moreover, the rally was coincided with the last campaign opportunity of the governor and the deputy governor candidates. 

“I would remained to ban the long march. I would also banned prayer in the mosque, if there was a rally in the streets. You may give your opinion but there were rules, the constitution was existed to regulate the order. Please obey it,” said the former West Java Police Chief.
