Police examine 3 BPRD officials in reclamation graft case

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Metro Police to summon three officials as witnesses in an alleged case of corruption in the Jakarta bay reclamation project, on Wednesday.

The witnesses are officials in Regional Tax Authority (BPRD).

"We will summoned three witnesses on Wednesday," Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Police Commissioner Argo Yuwono said on Tuesday.

Nevertheless, the police have not determine the amount of state losses in the case.

Yuwono said, the Head of BPRD DKI Jakarta Regulation Joko, Head of Planning of BPRD DKI Jakarta Yuandi and staff of BPRD Penjaringan Andri to be examined in the determination process of the taxable value of property (NJOP) of the Jakarta Bay reclamation island. 

The police would examine whether the process and value of NJOP decided in accordance with the law.

So far, the police have examined 30 witnessess.

Jakarta Metro Police have increased the status of reported case of Jakarta bay reclamation from preliminary investigation to full investigation. 

Based on case review on Thursday (November 2), the investigators indicated state budget losses in the reclamation project of C and D islets.
