REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The stocks of food and basic commodities are sufficient for consumers in the Jakarta area ahead of and during the upcoming Lebaran holidays, stated an official.
"Stocks and prices of food and other basic commodities remain sufficient and stable," Head of Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP) Department Joko Kundaryo remarked here on Tuesday.
But, Kundaryo noted that his party is managing the operations of economical markets in five areas in Jakarta during the fasting month for the low-income community.
"We have organized economical markets offering affordable prices for the low-income community at five areas around Jakarta," Joko stated, adding that the supply of food items to Jakarta still continues to trickle in.
"Besides this, the distributors also continue to increase their stocks for up to 40 percent ahead of the Lebaran holidays," he noted.
Joko Widodo explained that particularly for the distribution of basic commodities in Jakarta, he has coordinated with the Ministry of Trade to keep a check on the prices.
