REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- The West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecution office has sent a third summon to former deputy Regent of West Lombok H Mahrip for investigation over alleged corruption.
Mahrip has been named suspect on charge of embezzlement of fund for cost of official trips.
The summon on Tuesday was the third after the suspect failed to appear on reason of being sick, I Made Sutapa, the spokesman of the high prosecution office said here on Wednesday.
Sutapa said the suspect would have to face his investigators on Wednesday on use of state fund for allegedly fictitious trips.
"The suspect has to explain to the investigators the procedure and how the fund had been used for allegedly non existent official trips," he said.
The suspect has been charged with signing false report of fund allowance for official trip to Jakarta, but he was known to be in his office at the given date.
Sutapa said Mahrip was already questioned earlier , but investigators need more details that has to explain by the suspect.
The case has long been in the process of investigation, he said, adding, it was already included in the list of backlog cases in the prosecution office.
"The process of investigation has dragged on for year. We want to give the suspect a legal certainty," he added.
