REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the Selection Committee (Pansel) of KPK Commissioner, Destry Damayanti insisted her side will try to minimize the chance of intervention. He said the President has agreed to provide working space for Pansel without having to exert pressure.
"From the beginning, we've made it clear to the President that we want to work independently. The President also welcomed, with stated he will not intervene," said Destry when contacted by ROL, on Wednesday, May 27.
According to her, the variety of disciplines owned by Pansel was useful to minimize intervention. Seha argued, awareness of the various forms of intervention could be built through a wealth of perspective members.
"Of course we are also preparing another strategy. We are trying to reproduce the collective meeting. On the contrary, individual meetings are reduced," he added.
Beside, it also will establish communications with relevant institutions, such as the Attorney General's Office (AGO), the National Police or the Chairman of KPK beforehand. The goal is that those concerned could provide advice and references to address intervention.
Previously, Pansel has expressed readiness to begin a series of KPK commissioner selection process. Pansel has drawn up a schedule, rules, and criteria required registering as a candidate for commissioner of KPK.
Destry said her side is ready to carry out Pansel selection openly. He hoped the public could participate to provide input during the selection takes place.
