REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- The head of National SAR Agency (Basarnas), Vice Marshal FH Bambang Soelistyo, said the Trigana aircraft PK-YRN with fight number IL-267 has been found to be crashed and burned.
"Based on the recent information I received at 11:05 am, the rescue teams has managed to find 20 bodies of victims," he said, in Jayapura, Tuesday (18/8).
Bambang explained, current weather condition in the accident location is unfriendly, but he hoped that the evacuation process will run smoothly.
"This time we focus on the process of evacuation, we are also looking for the black box and aircraft debris that could be examined the evacuation process," he added.
He also said that the rescue teams in Jayapura are already preparing the Police Hospital for the victims. The examination of the victims will be conducted in the hospital.
“There have been no survivor, we only found 20 bodies of victims,” he said.
