REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chief of Presidential Staff, Teten Masduki, revealed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had taken a firm decision not to revise the Law on Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK Law). He said, revision was possible to be done, if it aimed to strengthen the institution.

"The president asked us to talk about the revision with experts, anti-corruption activists, academics, and others. There is no desire to weaken the KPK," said Teten, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (20/10) afternoon.

Reporting from Cabinet Secretary web page, the statement was made by Teten to respond a number of survey conducted by several institutions, that show public dissatisfaction over the performance of the Government in law enforcement within a year of office.

"The president is aware that KPK is needed, especially there are many infrastructure development which open opportunities of corruption. We need strong KPK, strong prosecutor, and strong police," he stated.
