REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA -- Regional Water Company (PDAM) Jayapura, Papua, was pessimistic in applying technology of clean water treatment and wastewater treatment offered by a consultant from Israel on Friday (13/11) ago.
"Is it suitable to apply the technology offered by Israel in Jayapura? We are currently still using a very simple system," said Director of PDAM Jayapura, Abdul Muttalib Petonengan, in Jayapura, Saturday (21/11).
Abdul said it requires several steps to be applied and also a high cost. Meanwhile, Abdul added, the Jayapura's residents even still have a debt to PDAM Jayapura amounted to Rp 40 million.
On Friday (13/11), a consultant from Israel, Avi Markovich, and his entourage had visited Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tommy Mano, and held a meeting in his office to discuss cooperation in water treatment.
