REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) presented the 2016 Budget Execution Document (DIPA) and regional achievement awards to the recipients of the Regional Incentive Funds (DID) at the State Palace here on Monday, according to a minister.

"To boost the implementation of the budget, infrastructure and large-scale procurement of goods and services must be accelerated," Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro stated.

He remarked that the submission of the DIPA 2016 is the start of a series of state budget implementation processes in 2016 that had been agreed by the parliament and government in October 2015, so that the implementation process related to disbursement and development can take place more swiftly and evenly and can offer greater impetus to the growth in economic activities.

As the holder of power of the state's financial management system, the president handed over the DIPA 2016 to the ministers and institutional leaders as the users of the budget, finance minister as the state's treasurer, and the governors as representatives of the central government in the regions.

Based on the agreement between the government and the House of Representatives, the spending volume of the State Budget 2016 is set at Rp2,095.7 trillion, or increased by 5.6 percent compared to the 2015 revised budget.

In 2016, the government is targeting to achieve an economic growth of 5.3 percent, with inflation and exchange rate under control.
