REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Police's Criminal Investigation Department on Thursday (11/10) has questioned Buni Yani as witness regarding the case of alleged religious blasphemy by Jakarta Governor-inactive Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok). Buni said he was not the first who spread the video. "I was only re-post it," he said.
Buni gave the police several evidences of screenshots showing other social media user has spread the video on the earlier date. Buni said he got the video from NKRI media.
Then why did Buni upload the video to his Facebook account? "In the video, he saw a public servant giving a sensitive statement. That is why he post the video with caption asking "is this a blasphemy?". Buni wanted to discuss it with his friends on Facebook," Buni's lawyer, Aldwin Rahadian explained.
Buni was questioned for almost seven hours. Accompanied by his lawyer, he has to answer 28 questions from the police. He was accused of cutting the video from 1 hour 40 minutes duration to 31 seconds. "Buni admitted uploading the video to his Facebook account, but he has never edited it," Aldwin said.
According to Aldwin, the police has to questioned Buni Yani because his name was mentioned by several witnesses, including Ahok, in previous examination. "So, we had to clarify and explained the position of Buni," Aldwin said.
