API demands for the dismissal of West Java Police Chief

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Islamic Movement Alliance (API) asked the National Police Chief, Gen. Tito Karnavian, to dismiss the West Java (Jabar) Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Anton Charlian. The suit was delivered after the attack carried out by the mass of the Indonesian Grassroot Movement (GMBI) to the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) members after escorting Muhammad Rizieq Shihab to the police headquarters, on Thursday.

"In order to maintain the conduciveness of Jabar, we urge the police to immediately eliminate the Inspector General of Police Anton Charlian as West Java Police Chief. He potentially damages the conduciveness of Jabar which has been under control," said the coordinator of API in Jabar, HD Sumpena, in a release received by Republika.co.id on Friday.

According to him, so far the condition of Jabar is is very conducive Jabar despite of numerous protests came from various elements of society to express their aspirations. But, when the action was conducted in the West Java Police Headquarters on Thursday), a tragedy occurred. There was an attack against the guards of Rizieq committed with impunity by the GMBI masses.
