REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Social Affairs Minister Idrus Marham refused to comment on rumor about his resignation from Working Cabinet. He also was reluctant to discuss Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summon related to alleged Riau-1 coal fired power plant (PLTU) construction project bribery case.
“If I did (resign), so what? If not, so what?” Idrus said on Friday (August 24).
Idrus promised to explain later about those issues. When being asked about his visit to Presidential Palace, Idrus said he reported the Ministry of Social Affairs work.
Meanwhile, Presidential Staff official Ali Mochtar Ngabalin who accompanied Idrus also did want to give more details. He only asked for prayer, so there will be the best way.
“Just pray for the best,” Ali said.
Ngabalin only said that his visit to State Palace was to report Ministry of Social Affairs works. In addition, there was also a report related to the impact of Presidential Instruction plan on the handling of Lombok earthquake.
“We report the impact of Presidential Intruction and Ministry of Social Affairs work, we will just wait Mr Idrus to return to State Palace,” Ngabalin added.
