REPUBLICA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- In the Quran surah Ali Imran verse 145, Allah SWT says, which means, “Something that is alive will not die except with Allah's permission as a definite time. “Thus, life and death have been ordained by Him.

When birth is always celebrated with joy, death is accompanied by tears of sorrow. Maybe not a day or two, but months or even years.

Let us not be ordinary people. Prophet Muhammad shed tears when his beloved wife, Khadijah binti Khuwailid, passed away.

Similarly, when the beloved uncle who always protected him, Abu Thalib, died when the struggle to uphold Islam was still heavy. The Apostle was also very sad.

As the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught, it is okay to grieve, but it is only natural. Do not mourn constantly so that the zest for life is lost and despair.

Remember, every Muslim must believe in Allah's decrees for each of His creatures (qada/qadar). It is the power of faith that strengthens us. Realize that everything in the life of this world is just a speck. Everything is the trust of God, who at any time He wills, will depart from us.

Allah says in Surah an-Nisa verse 78, “Wherever you are, death will come to you, even if you are in a strong fortress. “Death is very frightening to those who sin a lot and are happy to delay repentance.

In the Quran Surah Al-Jumu'ah verse 7 is stated, meaning, “They will not expect that death is forever due to the evil they have committed with their own hands. God knows the wrongdoers.“

However, for the faithful, death is very happy. For this is the beginning of the opening of the door to meet the Most Merciful. For those left behind by the deceased or the almarhumah, there is much wisdom and guidance from Him when they are able to capture it.

When the voice adorns the soul, God's guidance will be readily accepted. The strength of the soul to accept the exam is increasing and the quality of worship will be better.

Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught how to deal with death intelligently. A friend once asked, “O Messenger of Allah, who is the smartest believer?“

He replied, “The one who remembers death the most, then the best at preparing for death, is the one who is the most intelligent (H.R. Ibn Majah, Thabrani and al-Haitsami).
