REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has blocked 214 accounts indicated to be involved in online/online gambling activities until June 2024.
If detailed, based on the company's data, the number of online gambling-related accounts that BNI blocked in January to December 2023 was recorded as 106 accounts. Then, in January to June 2024, 108 accounts were recorded that had been blocked.
“So the total number of accounts blocked at the request of Kominfo and law enforcement officials from January 2023 to June 2024 reached 214 accounts,” BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to the company, the blocking of accounts against hundreds of online gambling-related accounts is a real manifestation of BNI in supporting the government's efforts to create a healthy digital ecosystem free from gambling practices that disturb society.
