Green Industry Will Be The Core Business of Bengkulu Province

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Acting Governor Bengkulu Rosjonsyah believes that the region should be at the forefront of green industry management. Because the province on Sumatra Island has many resources to manage in an environmentally friendly manner.

Rosjonsyah said the amount of garbage in Bengkulu is very abundant. In 2023, the amount of garbage in Bengkulu Province reached 141,996.05 tons with an average monthly daily waste of 389.03 tons. The percentage of plastic waste in Bengkulu Province has increased year by year. In 2023 by 11.49 percent. Then in 2022 it was 9.39 and 2021 it was 8.00.

“If we can manage this waste, other district will join and follow us. We believe that one day will lead this environmentally and friendly industries. This is where Hello Green became the government's strategic partner for managing waste. Through this project, Hello Green is the first to create a green energy industry like this, let alone the Hydrogen powered bus project, this will revitalize the green industry in Bengkulu” Rosjonsyah said.

Hello Green Nusantara in cooperation with Bengkulu Mandiri officially launched the Sustainable Investment project in Bengkulu Province. Launching the event was held in the Ballroom of Mercure Bengkulu Hotel. Tuesday, 19 Nov 2024.

The event was attended officially by CEO of Hello Green Nusantara, Balazs Nemeth, and President Director of Bengkulu Mandiri Saud El Hujaj.

This collaboration is also witnessed by several government officials; acting governor of Bengkulu Rosjonsyah Syahili and member of parliament Ahmad Labib.

In his speech, President Director of Bengkulu Mandiri Saud El Hujaj expressed his hope for Bengkulu's progress as a province with a green economy base. “Bengkulu has become a green city. The future city based on green economy, and Bengkulu's ideal of building a special Economic area. The Deputy Minister of Industry agreed to build a Green Industrial Area in Bengkulu,” Saud said.
