REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- DPD of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) will open registration for future candidates for governor of DKI Jakarta. They also previously revealed a number of potential names that PDIP will nominate as the number one candidate in Jakarta.
The names are Tri Rismaharini, Sri Mulyani, Andika Perkasa, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, up to Basuki Hadimuljono. Nevertheless, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto is still reluctant to confirm the names.
“The names related to who will be candidates for governor in areas that are in the public spotlight, such as Jakarta, West Java, North Sumatra, then Central Java, Bali, North Sulawesi, including Papua and Aceh continue to be discussed,” Hasto said at the Teuku Umar Post in Jakarta, Monday (6/5/2024) evening.
According to Hasto, PDIP listens to the aspirations of DPD and DPC in DKI Jakarta regarding the name that will be carried as the future candidate for governor. He also did not comment on the chances of the party carrying Anies Rasyid Baswedan.
“The names will be filtered according to the proposals of the regions, which we are sorry we have not named, because they are still carrying out the notification process,” Hasto said.
