REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- Bali Health Department (Dinkes) head Nyoman Gede Anom says Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service will be prioritized for auxiliary health centers in three areas.

Anom in Denpasar, Sunday (19/5/2024), said Elon Musk's launch of the development of an internet service made by SpaceX at the Sumerta Klod Maid Health Center on Sunday afternoon was only a pilot because there was still more to be needed.

“We in Bali have problems in the districts of Nusa Penida, Kintamani, Sukasada, and Petang. If it's just a launch here, it's in an auxiliary health center where there is no Internet service,” he said.

Out of 120 health centres and 509 auxiliary health centres on Dewata Island, Dinkes Bali has not fully recorded the number of people who need Starlink internet service. The logging process will take place immediately after the inauguration.

“Our focus is on the auxiliary health centers, we want which data we really need, later we will present the data of the auxiliary health centers or health centers whose networks are disrupted, because there are also some centers that are disrupted,” Anom said.

Dinkes Bali even hoped that Elon Musk's transmitter could be installed throughout the auxiliary health center. Because a good internet network will help health workers load data connected to the Ministry of Health at the center.

“If for us in health the main goal is, so that there are no data input constraints in the ASIK (Indonesian Healthy Application) program, the Ministry's main goal can be used again for other things,” he said.

During this time of his record, the obstacle was the slow process of loading data from auxiliary health centers, such data as stunting data, pregnant women, toddlers, and other diseases. Inadequate internet networks in Klungkung, Buleleng, Bangli, and Badung districts, eventually caused the input data not to enter and as if there was no data when ASIK was opened in the center.
