REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- As many as 10 health workers from three military matras entered the Rafah area, Gaza Strip, Palestine. They are tasked with caring for refugees and casualties from the Israeli military at a field hospital operated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The head of the Public Relations Bureau of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Brig Gen Edwin Adrian Sumantha explained that the team from the TNI Health Task Force for Gaza arrived in Rafah on Saturday (7/9/2024). “The presence of military health personnel for Gaza is a clear proof of Indonesia's commitment in supporting the humanitarian mission for the Palestinian people,” Edwin said in Jakarta, Sunday (8/9/2024).

At the UAE Field Hospital in Rafah, a team of health workers from Indonesia started the activity with a morning report. Then, the doctors visitation the patient, while the paramedics and nurses do their duties according to their respective fields.
“The injured and those suffering from various diseases receive good and complete health care so that they are helped immediately and can recover immediately,” Edwin said.

The Indonesian government deployed 25 military nakes from Jakarta to El Arish, Egypt, in the second week of August 2024. The group was led by Colonel CKM dr Adry Pasmawi, who worked daily at RSPAD Gatot Subroto, Jakarta.
Of those 25, 10 were sent to Rafah, after the results of an on-the-ground review showed the situation at the site was safe for Indonesian health workers. The team will serve for a maximum of a month in Rafah, then rotate with those currently on duty aboard a UAE-owned hospital ship in El Arish Port, Egypt.
On board the Floating RS/RS, there are 24 military medical personnel who help treat patients along with doctors from the UAE. Of those 24 people, nine of them arrived in El Arish on Saturday (7/9). The arrival of the second wave of army nakes teams to El Arish was led by dr. Leksmana.

“UAE hospitals in Palestine and in El Arish, Egypt, have served 48,704 patients, including carrying out 1,780 operations,” Edin said.
El Arish in Sinai, Egypt, is one of the gathering points for aid from various countries around the world for Palestinian victims of the Israeli military massacre in Gaza. The distance between El Arish and Rafah. The area in Gaza that directly borders Sinai, Egypt, reaches 40 kilometers more.
