REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Former Minister of Youth and Sports Andi Mallarangeng seems has his own remedy to solve football problems. He talked to his successor Roy Suryo during the handover ceremony on Tuesday.
"Hopefully, he (Suryo -Ed) can learn the situation and make the right decisions," Mallarangeng, who stepped down from the office when he was named as a suspect of Hambalang graft case, said on Tuesday.
Mallarangeng explained his steps taken during his ofice term to solve the problems of Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) and Indonesian Football Rescue Committee (KPSI). He put some expectation that Suryo would settle the problems in time to prevent FIFA sanction.
"Indonesia must learn from Brunei Darussalam which once got FIFA sanction," He said. Nevertheless, Mallarangeng is optimistic that Suryo can carry out the mandate and boost Indonesian sport performance.
Yet, Suryo admitted that he might choose different path with Mallarangeng's. He said the he would communicate with PSSI and KPSI then the dismissal of both organizations would be an option once he meet the deadend.
