REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held a cabinet plenary meeting to discuss preparations in the face of the post-fasting month Idul Fitri festivities, or Lebaran here on Thursday.
"The agenda today is to hear reports from related ministers on the preparations made in the face of Idul Fitri holidays and Lebaran travelers. I hope the ministers reported their preparations," the President said in his opening remarks.
On the occasion, the head of state asked Transportation Minister EE Mangindaan to report on transportation conditions, Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto on road infrastructure, Trade Minister M Luthfi on price stability, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik on fuels (to support travelers' transportation) and National Police General Sutarman on Lebaran pacification.
The president was accompanied by Vice President Boediono. Also attending the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Chairul Tanjung, Finance Minister Chatib Basri, Agriculture Minister Suswono, State Enterprise Minister Dahlan Iskan, National Development Planning Minister Armida S Alisjahbana, Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo and Financial Service Authority's Board of Commissioners Chairamn Muliaman D Hadad.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto,Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Commander General Moeldoko and Attorney General Basrief Arief also attended the plenary meeting.
In his remarks, the president also touched on the scheduled announcement of the results of the July 9 presidential elections on July 22, 2014. He also referred the Palestinian issue.
