VP: Engeline’s murder case is tragic

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOLO -- The murder case of Angeline, an eight years old girl from Denpasar, Bali, is becoming public concern. Currently, the police assign a suspect named Agustinus Tai Hamdamai. The murder case of an eight years old girl was also made Vice President Jusuf Kalla sad.

"Of course we are very sat about the incident, because it was a very sad and tragic where a child brutally murdered. The police had arrested the suspects," said VP in Military Air Base Adi Soemarmo, Solo, on Thursday, June 11.

He also hoped legal proceedings against the perpetrators would run smoothly and could be punished in accordance with law.

"It would be processed quickly and with severe punishment, if he found guilty," he said.

Previously, police had secured seven witnesses of Angeline murder case and had set a suspect Agustinus Tai Hamdamai alias Agus into a single suspect.

"But the case is still be explored again. Is there any other parties involved," said the Denpasar police chief, Police Senior Commissioner AA Gde Sudana, on Thursday, June 11.

Angeline was found dead buried in the backyard of his home in Sedap Malam Street, Denpasar which was also inhabited by her adoptive mother, Margaret, and a number of others including a domestic worker named Agus (who has been named as a suspect) and boarders in the house.

Previously, Tim Forensic Medicine of Center General Hospital (RSUP) Sanglah, Denpasar, found injuries as a result of blunt force to Angeline's head.
