REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- Creative human resources will usher in greater development in Indonesia, according to Minister of Culture, Elementary and Secondary Education Anies Baswedan.

"Coming up with new ideas is essential to develop our nation," Baswedan stated after opening the National Students' Art Competition and Festival here on Monday.

However, he noted that creative human resources depend on the existence of art and culture in the people.

Furthermore, he pointed out that the art competition and festival are being organized to hone the people's skills in creating varied artworks.

"With creativity, the problem can be solved immediately," he remarked.

Therefore, the event should be held optimally in a bid to provide an opportunity to develop the students' creativity.

"In addition, the event can motivate other students in becoming creative through art," he emphasized.

He reiterated that the competition could serve as a motivation for the younger generation as the student participants at the event represent thousands of Indonesian students.

On the occasion, the minister urged the participants to maintain integrity to increase the level of the competition.

"Let us develop our nation to be able to efficiently carry out various activities such as the current event," he added.
