REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) informed that 20 Indonesian citizens survived on boat sink in Malaysia, Thursday (3/9), and 29 others died. Based on information from MRCC Jaya Putra Malaysia, the victims had been sent to two hospitals in Malaysia.
“There were 20 survivor, who had been evacuated to IPOH hospital in Selangor. 29 others (9 men, 19 women, and one children) died and evacuated in Teluk Intan Hospital,” as stated in official Twitter account of Basarnas, Sunday (6/9).
Currently, Basarnas and MRCC Jaya Putra Malaysia worked together to continue to search for the victims. The data stated that the boat was carrying 100 illegal immigrants.
The rescue team has deployed nine ships and two helicopters around the search area. 49 people were found survived and died, and they have to find 51 people remaining.
