REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Yuddy Chrisnandi and Minister of Communications and Information, Rudiantara, held a meeting to discuss the necessary steps related to electronic government (e-Gov). In the meeting, both agreed to work together and form a team to accelerate the program of bureaucracy reform.

Yuddy Chrisnandi said, he is optimistic that e-Gov systems can be implemented properly. Moreover, he continued, this program has been supported by President Joko Widodo.

"What are the benefits? what changes are perceived? For example in terms of governance," Said Yuddy, in Jakarta, Wednesday (30/9).

Yuddy explained, Indonesia would be easy to implement this system because it has been supported by infrastructures. The Government now just have to raise the human interest.

Deputy for Institutional and Governance of Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini, said in the implementation of e-Gov, the Ministry would make formulation and synchronization.

However, she admitted that the Ministry could not work alone. Therefore, it must be supported by Ministry of Communication and Information on the implementation and development of systems and infrastructure of e-Gov.

Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform focuses more on building governance of its business process. Meanwhile, Ministry of Communication and Information focuses more on the development of communication and information technology systems and infrastructure

"E-Gov will provide convenience for public to gain access to government services," said Rini.

Rudiantara also agreed that e-Gov was not about technology but about the government bureaucracy reform. According to him, e-gov is a tool to improve bureaucratic reform in serving people. In the e-Gov, Rudi explained that there are three goals, namely government to government, government to business, and government to civil society.
