REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Youth Pledge Day on October 28, 2015, should be commemorated to offer the right momentum for the Indonesian government to build a creative generation, with high competitive power, according to a legislator.
"Now is the time for the government to seriously develop a creative generation by making the creative industry the new backbone for development in Indonesia," Anang Hermansyah, the member of House Commission II of the National Mandate Party (PAN) faction, remarked here on Wednesday.
Speaking to newsmen on the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day, Hermansyah noted that the event should provide the necessary momentum for the government to build a creative generation.
He noted that in comparison to other countries, Indonesia has cultural wealth and is far superior in developing its creative industry.
"Moreover, Indonesia has a demographic bonus that is greater than other countries," he stated, adding that the Creative Economic Board should cooperate with other stakeholders, including the regional government, to develop the creative industry.
