REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Manpower is for the first time finalizing a glossary pertaining to the field of employment and expansion of employment opportunities. During this time, several terms related to data, information, programs, and other terminologies in the field of employment and expansion of employment opportunities are lacking or not understood by the community, stakeholders from other institutions, and stakeholders, in general.
"By finalizing this glossary, we hope that the public would be able to gain a broader understanding on data, information, programs, and terms in the field of employment and expansion of employment opportunities to accelerate and expedite the implementation of employment programs and activities," the ministry's Secretary of the Directorate General of Workers Placement and Expansion of Employment Opportunity Edi Purnama noted in a written statement in Yogyakarta, Tuesday.
With the formulation of the glossary, information on employment terms can be disseminated to regions, to make them aware of terminologies in the field of employment and expansion of employment opportunities, especially if the region receives foreign guests or interacts in an international forum.
"We hope that the results in the form of a glossary in the field of manpower placement and expansion of employment opportunities can be useful for people in understanding terminologies related to foreign employment," he noted.
Purnama explained that the glossary will later help the community to also understand the technical terms and mechanisms of the Manpower sector, so that in the face of mutations or promotions, it does not take long to adjust and will be able to contribute directly.
"Glossary of the field of manpower placement and expansion of employment opportunities is also needed, especially for those attending international cooperation and cooperation sessions in bilateral, regional, and multilateral forums," he explained.
Related technical units that have several overseas cooperation activities, both with international organizations, such as the WTO, ILO, G20, APEC, and ASEAN, as well as bilateral ones with Japan (IJEPA), Australia (IA-CEPA), European Union (IEU-CEPA ), and others, are expected to make the best use of this glossary.
