REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- An ecological tourist village is to be developed in the Situ Gede area of Bogor city in West Java, Bogor's Physical and Infrastructure Development Board spokesman Loriana Dramastuti, said on Saturday.
"The village will be equipped for agro-tourism, water tourism, and cultural tourism," Dramastuti stated.
She explained that a Sundanese traditional house, government offices, and tourist facilities will also be developed in the tourist village.
Earlier, Bogor Mayor Bima Arya had said that the tourist city development program should also accommodate the wishes of the community of Situ Gede.
"The program can run well only if the people of Situ Gede are involved," the Bogor mayor said.
Situ Gede Community Empowerment Institute Chairman Eman Sulaeman also welcomed the tourist village development program in the area.
Sulaeman noted that the program should be beneficial for the community of Situ Gede.
"The community of Situ Gede must not act only as spectators, but should be able to enjoy the benefits of the tourist village program," he remarked.
