Firmanzah announces launching of Indonesia Presidential Scholarship to 150 recipients to study in the world's best 50 universities.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has launched a scholarshio program in the end of his presidential tasks named Presidential Scholarship for 150 receipients to study in the world's best 50 universities. 

According to presidential special staff for economic affairs, Firmanzah, president expected Indonesia to become a developed nation by 2045 and gained respect from the world. Hence, the outgoing president thinks that human resources development is the key factor. 

The Presidential Scholarship receipients are those of less fortunate people but show good leadership. Applicants who are able to demonstrate her or his real contribution in community will have the added value.

"Persons with positive influence in their community will be prioritized fo this scholarship scheme, plus hus sense to justice," Firmanzah said.

One of recipients is Raeni, Mugiyono's daughter, a pedicab (becak) driver from Semarang. Raeni was the best graduate of Diponegoro University, Semarang with GPA 3.96 and 3.5 year study period.
