REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Golkar Party General Chairman Airlangga Hartarto Tarto believes the party will gain a significant number of seats in the Parliament of RI and win in 15 provinces based on the recapitulation of the results of the counting of provisional votes for the 2024 election by KPU RI.

“I also appreciate the prediction that the Golkar Party will gain significant seats, significantly above 100; and from the results of planning prepared for two years. Thank God for giving results because the Golkar Party became the winning party in 15 provinces,” Airlangga said during a press conference after a plenary meeting with the Central Leadership Council (DPP) and Golkar Party cadres at the Golkar Party DPP office in West Jakarta on Sunday.

Airlangga thanked the community for supporting and voting for the party emblazoned with the banyan tree. He also expressed appreciation to the candidates of the Golkar Party, both elected and not.

“Because all the votes that were cast were votes of support for the Golkar Party and that's what kept the Golkar Party up to this point based on the quick count and the real count was around 15 percent,” he said.

In addition, he also appreciated the party's performance in the election of presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka who has so far outperformed the other two candidate pairs.

“Well, next of course we are still waiting for the results of the election counting by KPU, and Bawaslu on March 20,” Airlangga said.

Airlangga explained, the plenary meeting discussed the evaluation of the achievements of the Golkar Party in the presidential elections and elections. In addition, the meeting also discussed the linearity of the direction of voters of the Golkar Party in the contesting of the elections to the presidential election.

“Thank God that in this election the Golkar Party has linear voters. The district/city, provincial, and national parliament at the same time is also a liner with the president carried by the Golkar Party. Therefore, this is an achievement that shows the solidity and strength of the Golkar Party machine,” he said.

Not to be spared, the Golkar Party also discussed preparations for the 2024 Local Elections (local elections) on the occasion.

The Golkar party, Airlangga said, had already issued about 1,040 assignments for the nomination of regent, mayor, and governor.

He explained that it will evaluate the results of the votes of several candidates who advanced to Parliament to be considered for election contesting. “In the next 3-4 months, the Golkar Party will concentrate there, the Golkar Party will conduct surveys for the elections,” Airlangga said.
