REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) will hold Muktamar VIII on 1-3 March 2024 in Jakarta. In this Decision, there are at least three important agendas to be discussed, namely the program, the preparation of the DMI recommendations and the amendments to the Articles of Association and the Household Budget (AD/ART) of the DMI.

“Thank God we can finally hold Muktamar VIII DMI in early March after being delayed for two years due to the disastrous Covid-19 outbreak and political year. Hopefully we can implement Muktamar smoothly and produce good output for DMI and the welfare of the people,” said Secretary General of the Central Management of DMI, Dr. H. Imam Addaruqutni, M.A in Jakarta, Thursday (29/2/2024).

Imam mentioned that, according to AD/ART, the participants of Muktamar VIII DMI are the envoys of the leaders of the regions and regions. Plus participants from Provincial Grand Mosque throughout Indonesia. “Muktamar's agenda includes programs. Both the DMI recommendations and the third are the AD/ART amendments,” explains Imam.

Regarding the program, Imam said the DMI program is an original mosque-based program. “Thank God many of the DMI programs set out in Muktamar VII can be implemented well. Among the big and monumental ones, the central leadership could realize the main office building on Jalan Matraman, Jakarta,” Imam said in a press release.

While a fairly successful social program is the mosque-based fight against covid, it is apparently quite effective. “While community-based programs include education, DMI has opened more than 3,000 mosque-based early childhood education services,” Imam said.

Chairman of Muktamar VIII DMI Committee, who is also Chairman of PP DMI Organization, Mas Guntur Laupe added that the implementation of Muktamar VIII DMI held after the election was the result of the DMI National Leadership Meeting on March 6, 2023. “We don't want the mosque to be used as a political stage. Mosques are used for the welfare of the people and to bless their congregants,” Mas Guntur explained.

Mas Guntur also ensured that the preparation for Muktamar VIII DMI went well and expected everything to go smoothly from the preparation and implementation. “Hopefully Muktamar VIII can be executed well and produce a good decision as well. As DMI Chairman Pak Jusuf Kalla has always said, DMI will be a unifying factor in strengthening the unity and unity of the nation,” said Mas Guntur.
