REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- An Australian company engaged in marina construction is ready to promote licensing reforms in Indonesia, the Head of the Investment Coordinating Board, Franky Sibarani, said in a press release received by Antara here on Tuesday.

The company, which has been facilitated by the board's representative office in Sydney and the marketing officer's team in Australia, has admitted that in the past it was licensing work to third parties because it did not know that administrative processes have undergone reforms now.

"They were a victim of misperception that licensing in Indonesia was difficult. After our marketing team briefed them, they have expressed their readiness to promote our licensing processes among their business colleagues," Sibarani informed.

The Australian company plans to build a marina in West Nusa Tenggara province.

"Initially, the company only wanted to understand about marina construction licensing. We explained that licensing provision is only available for water tourism," Sibarani disclosed.

The company then proposed an extension principle permit for its marina business and used the three hours service facility provided by the Investment Coordinating Board.

"The company really appreciated our service. They said they will promote this service among other foreign business players so that they may opt to invest in Indonesia," Sibarani remarked.

The Australian company is ready to help the board in disseminating information about the ease of licensing processes to other investors, especially in Bali and West Nusa Tenggara.

The Investment Coordinating Board continues to make it ever more easier to obtain a business license. The board is also promoting licensing reforms via videos on YouTube in order to build a positive perception.
