Eight planes prepared to evacuate Trigana Air victims

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA -- Eight planes are ready to evacuate the victims of Trigana Air aircraft that crashed in Oksibil, Bintang Mountains, Papua. Jayapura air base commander Col. I Made Susila Adyana said the eight planes that are from various types stand by in Sentani airport and also in Oksibil.

The planes are Philatus from Susi Air, Twin Otter and ATR from Trigana Air, Caravan from AMA, Heli Bell from Airfast and helicopter from the Indonesian Army. From the Sentani Airport, a Trigana ATR plane will be sent to carry the logistics.

"Hopefully the weather is going to be nice so that the evacuation can be done soon," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief of police of Bintang Mountains, Yunus Wally, added that the rescue teams are heading to the location of the crash. The Airfast helicopter was also sent a rescue team to Oksibil to prepare the helipad in order to facilitate the evacuation process.
