REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Environment conservation carried out by Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) broke a record from Indonesian Record Museum (MURI). This activity was initiation of Student Association of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism (Himakova) IPB.
They were entitled to be given the award from MURI because they consistently conducted expeditions in national parks for 13 years. Himakova had carried out expeditions in National Park of Mount Tambora, Sumbawa and West Nusa Tenggara.
In the expedition they were conducting inventory of biodiversity, studying on social and culture, and providing recommendations for regional ecotourism development based on data obtained.
Himakova broke MURI record in its 30th anniversary. In addition to environmental conservation studies, they also performed routine activities such as fauna and flora exploration and Indonesian ecotourism.
"The achievements of Himakova, hopefully, can boost spirit of the students to continue working," said Rizka, a representative of Himakova, Tuesday (12/1).
