Jokowi says terrorism haunting entire world

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially set the birthday of Pancasila on June 1 as national holiday. He said in speech in commemoration of Pancasila birthday at Merdeka Building, Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday (1/6).

"Bismillahirrahmanirrahim by presidential decree, dated June 1 set as holiday and celebrated as the birthday of Pancasila," Jokowi said in front of guests, on Wednesday.

The decision about the birthday of Pancasila was signed by Jokowi in Merdeka Building, Bandung  after delivered his speech. The decision was inaugurated June 1 as the Pancasila's birthday and national holiday.

It was greeted with applause from invited guests. In his speech, Jokowi also expressed Pancasila has important meaning for the Indonesia's nation. Pancasila as the base that made Indonesia remain united in the midst of global conflict development.

He hopes in the future, the people of Indonesia continue to hold fast to pancasila. Indonesia is also expected keep united with the threat of terrorism that’s haunting the entire of the world.
