REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MALANG – Indonesian Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita stated to meet the management of 7-Eleven or Sevel. It would be conducted following the closure of all the outlets in Indonesia.

“This is not an intervention as the final decision is in their hand,” said Enggar in Malang, East Java on Friday (June 30).

Enggar said the decision to close the outlets were purely from the shareholders and management. It had no relation to the government or any regulation. Even if it was related to regulation, Sevel should be able to adapt the regulation in every country.

“And I myself was a businessman. There should be courage to stop (a business unit). Whether you want it or not, we must make a decision,” said Enggar.

On the same occasion, Enggar also responded people's worries about the Sevel's staffs that did not get any severance. He was sure Sevel's management would not left its obligation to pay it.

Previously, a number of Sevel's staffs hired a lawyer to precede their severance payment. They were afraid that the severance would not be paid after Sevel was closed.
