REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MINAHASA -- Regent of Minahasa, Jantje Wowiling Sajow will buy watermaster; a tool to clean up Lake Tondano from water hyacinth plants. Water hyacinth plants are infesting the lake and can be a nuisance on the lake that will become a tourist destination.

"The plan for next year is that we will buy the 'watermaster' and will allocate them in the Regional Budget (APBD) in 2017," Jantje said in Tondano, Thursday (2/6).

He said that this will be able to clean the water hyacinth that has spread in the lake Tondano and often hamper farmers from cultivating freshwater fish in the area.

Jantje say, to be able to clean the water hyacinth that has become become widespread we need a bold breakthrough with this procurement of this tool although it is expensive.

 Sales Manager PT Binacitra Technology Sufriyanto say that the machine is equipped with amphibious machine that can operate in water with a maximum.

It describes that this tool has been used also in the normalization of rivers, reservoirs, and beaches. And is well suited in the fight against water hyacinth that has expanded in the territorial waters of Lake Tondano. Because the machine is equipped with a raking for dredging so that the water hyacinth can be lifted up to the roots.

Sufriyanto said that the tool is equipped with a bouquet of 600 liters, pump with integrated cutter cutter system so that it can function as dredging.

Chairman of Parliament James Rawung also supports the efforts of the district government to procure these tools. Similarly, the Chairman of Commission III Rommy Leke and Chairman of the Democratic faction Treisye Kaligis also expressed their support.
