REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LEBAK -- Three Bedouin residents in the interior of Lebak Regency, Banten, fell victim to a venomous snake bite of a land snake. The condition of the victims at this time is quite severe.

According to Arif, the victim refused to be referred to Banten Hospital for various reasons. One of the reasons is to worry about incurring considerable medical care costs because they do not have a Health BPJS. In fact, SRI has facilitated the victim to be referred to Banten Hospital with a Certificate of Incapacitation (SKTM).

“All the patients who were referred were by including SKTM for Bedouins, because it has been in cooperation between SRI and Banten Hospital,” Arif said.

According to Arif, the victim also refused to be taken to Banten Hospital for fear of long medical treatment. Moreover, now it is approaching the ritual tradition of Kawalu.

“Residents of the snakebite victims live in villages adjacent to the site of the Bedouin Dalam settlements that still firmly hold indigenous traditions,” he said.

Therefore, the SRI medical team will visit three victims of the snakebite. One of the victims, Sangsang, 45, a resident of Kampung Cibogo, Kanekes Village, Leuwidamar District, had his right hand blackened and decayed.

“We will go to their homes to provide treatment alongside the medical team so as not to cause severe injuries that could result in death,” Arif said.
