‬Banking transactions decline during floods

According to Bank Indonesia, transactions using Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) during floods on January 17 is recorded at 50,200 or lower than average per day, 71,100 transactions.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Banking transactions declined during floods in January 16-18. Floods inundated several areas in Jakarta and paralyzed business sectors.

Spokesman of Bank Indonesia, Difi A Johansyah, said on Wednesday that transactions using Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) on January 17 was recorded at 50,200 or lower than average per day, 71,100 transactions. The value of the transaction is only 297.9 trillion IDR, falling sharply from average transaction value per day, which is 404 trillion IDR.

While on January 18, RTGS transaction volume was 58,400 worth 284.4 trillion IDR. Meanwhile, the volume of manual clearing transaction using The Bank Indonesia National Clearing System (SKNBI) on Thursday was 21,000 worth 0.9 trillion IDR, declining from average volume of 59,600 worth 2.5 trillion IDR.
